Weekend Recap: April 24th/25th

Well after a week off hanging with Jay-Z & Beyonce at Coachella Fest. I was back leading at ALC and it was a great weekend.  The band did a great job with the set and people really seemed to be connecting.  Let’s just say we were rejoicing in the day that the Lord made and letting the praises ring out as we centered our lives around God:-)  We also introduced “Song of Hope” by Robbie Seay Band.  Overall great weekend!!!

We also had a great discussion about 1 Corinthians 13 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Cor%2013&version=NIV).  Most of us have read that section a million times, but for some reason Saturday when I read it i felt as if God was challenging me.  Do I love like this?  Am I motivated by Love in my service, in ministry?  We realized that we all struggle with this, especially with those who have wronged us.  We also realized that we cannot love like this unless we’ve experienced the Love of Christ.  Until we realize that Jesus is the example of 1 Corinthians Love and He loves us with this kind of selfless love than we cannot truly love others this way.  We can have the appearance of love with our actions, with our words, but God knows our hearts desire and if it is not love then it is just a loud gong or a clanging cymbal.
